Standard mat opening sizes.

Traditionally the mat will cover about 1 4 inch of the image below. Frame size mat opening image size. This will ensure that the image will not fall through the front of your mat. Max custom opening size is 2 inches smaller than mat size.

Choosing your opening size. Our standard sizes all have windows that are 1 4 less the size of the intended print size. So a mat for a 5 x 7 picture will have an opening of 4 5 x 6 5. Please note that if your paper size or artwork is 8x10 it may fall through the opening.
